What to expect
- Your role
- You write as a finance manager reporting to the senior financial manager.
- Write like this
- Analytical but people-aware. Balance the numbers with the effect on staff, projects and stakeholders.
- Expect tasks on
- Medium-term decisions: investment appraisal, performance measures, transfer pricing, financing, group reporting, sustainability reporting, and leading projects and change.
- The pre-seen is released on the CGMA Study Hub at least six weeks before the first exam day. It describes the company, its industry, its people and its recent results.
- In the exam, new information (the unseen) arrives at the start of each section. Each section is one task: a trigger, then two to four sub-tasks, each with its % of the time and marks, usually written as an email, memo, report or briefing notes in your role.
- Tasks draw on all three subjects at your level and on the pre-seen. The result is a pass or fail, with a scaled score out of 150 (80 or more passes) and feedback by core activity.
Always confirm the exam format and dates with CIMA.
