How accurate is the marking?
We follow CIMA's published 2026–27 marking approach. Each requirement is split into the points a marker rewards, and each point is placed at Level 1, 2 or 3 by best fit, then given a mark inside that level's range. A level is judged on technical understanding, communication, use of the information and application to the scenario. Marks are given for what you show, never taken away. You see the level and marks for each point, a score for each of the four elements, and your result by core activity, as a practice estimate out of 150 with the pass line at 80. Every answer is first marked automatically by AI against this scheme. You can query any mark: an independent second marking looks at it first, then a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator if it doesn't settle. It is a guide, not a CIMA mark. It can still be harsher or kinder than a human marker, so use it to spot patterns across many answers rather than to predict your result. Your real exam is marked by CIMA's markers. We are checking our marks against qualified human markers, and publish the figures once at least 30 answers have been checked, good or bad. Your first task is free, so you can judge the marking yourself.
How marking works and how we check itWho marks my answer?
Every answer is first marked automatically by AI against this scheme. You can query any mark: an independent second marking looks at it first, then a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator if it doesn't settle.
How marking works and how we check itHow is the case study exam marked?
CIMA's case study exams are marked by trained human markers. Each sub-task is split into traits, and each trait is placed at Level 1, 2 or 3 by best fit (or given no marks when there is no rewardable material), judged on technical understanding, communication, use of the information and application to the scenario. Your result is a pass or fail, a scaled score out of 150 (80 or more is a pass) and feedback by core activity. Check the blueprints and marking guidance on the AICPA-CIMA website for the detail. Eighty Marks follows CIMA's published 2026–27 approach and shows a scaled estimate on the same 0–150 scale, with your raw marks beside it, so you can track your progress against the pass line. Your raw marks are converted to a scaled score out of 150, with 80 as the pass line. CIMA sets its own conversion for each exam and doesn't publish it, so our scaled figure is an estimate.
How is it different from ChatGPT?
A general chatbot can comment on an answer, but you have to supply the company, write the instructions and judge the result yourself. Eighty Marks is built for one job: questions already set in your pre-seen, a consistent marking approach every time, your answer rewritten with the reasons for each change, a daily plan from your weak spots, and a record of your progress. It does not replace your own judgement or your tuition provider, and you can still use a chatbot alongside it.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Create a free account and you get one marked task, with no card needed. You see the same kind of feedback paying students see.
Do you support extra time?
Yes. If CIMA gave you extra time in your exam (one of its special accommodations), choose the same in Settings: 25%, 50% or double time. Your timed tasks and mock sections get longer to match. It never changes how your answers are marked. It is included on every plan.
What happens to my data?
Get a copy of your account, answers, marks, feedback and mentor messages from Settings, whenever you like. Delete your account in Settings at any time. Your account is anonymised: your name, email and sign-in are erased. Your answers and marks stay with the anonymised account, with nothing that identifies you, to help check the marking. We keep purchase records only because tax law requires it. No ads and no third-party tracking cookies. We never sell your data, and your answers are never used to train AI models.
Read the privacy noticeWhich exam dates am I buying for?
You buy a level (Operational, Management or Strategic). CIMA uses each pre-seen for two exam windows (sittings). Your plan covers your next two sittings at that level: both windows of the current pre-seen, or, if you buy after its first window, its second window and the first window of the next pre-seen, whose practice opens when that pre-seen is released. The pricing page shows the access end date for each level before you pay. Check your own exam booking with CIMA.
Is Eighty Marks part of CIMA?
No. Eighty Marks is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by CIMA or AICPA.
After you buy
What if I don't pass?
If you don't pass a sitting you take while your plan is active, and you did the practice for it, your next exam window is free, and so is each one after it until you pass. To qualify, complete at least 40 marked answers at your level, and 1 full mock exam at that level, before each sitting, then report your result. Pass Plus only. The full conditions are in the Terms.
When does my access end?
Access runs until 14 days after the last exam day of your second covered sitting. The date is shown on each pricing card. If the next pre-seen's dates aren't published yet when you buy, we set a safe end date and only ever move it later once CIMA publishes them. Back for another go? If your plan at a level ended in the last 12 months, or ends within 30 days, your next two sittings there cost half the plan price: OCS and MCS £89 for Pass or £159 for Pass Plus, SCS £99 or £174. It doesn't matter why: you didn't pass, you postponed or you didn't sit.
I bought a final week pass. Can it count towards a plan?
Yes. Until 30 days after that exam window's results day, the £79 you paid counts in full towards Pass or Pass Plus at the same level, so Pass for the OCS costs £100. The plan covers your next two sittings.
What is an in-depth review?
A slower, more detailed review of one of your finished mocks, marked following CIMA's published marking approach. You get it by 7am as our AI marker wrote it, and a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator checks it within 2 working days (on a Mock pack or Final week pass, a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator spot-checks a sample of reviews). If they change anything, we tell you. The AI marker works through your answers in several steps: marks for each requirement, your answer annotated with what works and what to change, a second marking of the whole mock, notes on timing, structure and length, and a 7-day plan. Reviews are processed overnight and are ready by 7am the next morning. If one is late or fails, you get the credit back. Pass Plus includes 3; you can also buy 1 for £39 or 3 for £99.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if you change your mind early. Within 7 days of buying, if 5 or fewer of your answers have been marked at that level, you get a full refund. When you're eligible, there's a "Request a refund" button on Your plan: the refund is instant, and your access to what you bought ends straight away. A Case Study Pathway can be refunded the same way within 7 days, before you start a level. For an upgrade, or a plan bought with credit from another purchase, contact us. The legal detail: UK consumer law gives a 14-day right to cancel, but because your access starts straight away, that right ends once you start using your plan. We ask you to agree to this at checkout. None of this affects your legal rights.
Read the refund termsAre there usage limits?
Yes, daily limits on marked answers, rewrites and mentor messages, set high enough for a full day of practice. Pass Plus has higher limits. The numbers are shown on each plan.
Do you provide the pre-seen?
Download CIMA's pre-seen from the CGMA Study Hub. We give you our own summary of the business, questions set in that company and practice built around it.
Can I use it outside the UK?
Yes. It works on any device, anywhere. Dates and your study week follow your local time zone.
Mark any mock
What can I send?
A case study task or a full mock (up to 4 sections, 8 tasks) from any provider, or from CIMA's own practice material, with your answer. Paste the task text, or upload it as a PDF, PNG or JPG. Paste your answer as text.
How is it marked without the marking guide?
We don't have the provider's marking guide or model answer. We work out the requirements from the task, split the marks between them, and mark your answer against those requirements, marked following CIMA's published marking approach. Anything it had to assume, such as the marks for each requirement, is listed in your review.
What happens to the material I upload?
We use it only to mark your answer. It is never added to our question bank and never shown to anyone else. The question text and files are deleted 30 days after your review is ready. Your answer and our review stay in your account.
