Help

How can we help?

Plans and exam dates, resits, refunds, marking, Dot and your account. Search, or jump to a topic.

Getting started

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. Make a free account and you get one task marked, with no card needed. The feedback is the same kind paying students get, so you can judge the marking for yourself.

After that, practice, lessons, mocks and Dot come with a plan.

When are the case study exams?

CIMA runs the case study exams in four windows a year: February, May, August and November. Each window is three days, Wednesday to Friday, and the Operational, Management and Strategic levels sit in consecutive weeks of the month.

Each pre-seen is used for two windows in a row, so a new pre-seen comes out every six months.

Set your exam window in Settings so Today, your study plan and Dot count down to your exam. Always check your own booking with CIMA: Eighty Marks isn't part of CIMA, and CIMA's dates are the official ones.

Plans and dates

When does my plan end?

Every plan covers your next two exam sittings at its level. If you buy before or during a pre-seen's first window, that is both of its windows. If you buy after the first window, it is the second window and the first window of the next pre-seen.

Your access ends 14 days after the last exam day of the second sitting it covers. Your plan page shows the date.

When CIMA hasn't published the dates of a sitting yet, we set a safe end date and move it later once the dates are out. We never move it earlier.

What's the difference between Pass and Pass Plus?

Both plans include timed tasks, lessons, the study plan and Dot for one level. Pass includes 2 full mocks; Pass Plus up to 5, 3 in-depth reviews, top-band rewrites and resit cover.

Pass Plus also has higher daily limits and a bigger Dot allowance (1,000 messages against 400). Prices depend on the level, so they're on the pricing page.

You can move from Pass to Pass Plus at any time from Your plan: you pay the difference and your end date stays the same.

Are there daily limits?

Yes, set high enough for a full day of practice. Pass: 30 marked answers, 10 improved answers and 30 Dot messages a day. Pass Plus: 80, 30 and 100.

Each count starts with your first one and resets 24 hours later. Dot also has an allowance for the whole plan, explained under Dot.

What is the final week pass?

For the week before your exam if you don't have a plan: 7 days of Pass Plus at one level from the moment you pay, with 2 in-depth reviews and 150 Dot messages. It doesn't include resit cover and it doesn't extend.

It's offered from 7 days before your exam date up to the day before. Until 30 days after that window's results day, what you paid counts in full towards Pass or Pass Plus at the same level.

What is the mock pack?

Marked mocks without a plan: up to 5 full mocks at one level and 1 in-depth review, for your next two sittings. It doesn't include timed task practice, lessons, the study plan or Dot.

If you move on to Pass or Pass Plus at the same level, what you paid for the pack counts towards it.

Resits and if you don't pass

What happens if I don't pass?

On Pass Plus you have resit cover until you pass: if you don't pass a sitting you take while your plan is active, your next exam window is free, and so is each one after it until you pass. To qualify, do at least 40 marked answers and 1 full mock exam at your level before each sitting (counted from when your plan, or your last free window, began), then report your result on the Results page.

On Pass, or if you didn't do the practice, you can come back at half price (see the next question).

Can I come back for another sitting at a lower price?

Yes. If your plan at a level ended in the last 12 months, or ends within 30 days, your next two sittings there cost 50% of the plan price. It doesn't matter why: you didn't pass, you postponed or you didn't sit.

Your plan page shows the offer and its price when you're eligible. Without it, the normal price applies.

Payments and refunds

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if you change your mind early: within 7 days of buying, and with 5 marked answers or fewer, ask us and we refund you in full to the card you paid with.

UK law gives a 14-day right to cancel, but because your access starts straight away, that right ends once you start using your plan. You agreed to this at checkout. None of this affects your legal rights.

To ask, contact us with the email address you paid with. The full terms are in the Terms.

Where's my receipt?

We email a receipt when your payment goes through. Everything you've bought is also listed at the bottom of Your plan, with the date and the amount.

Marking and queries

How is my answer marked?

We follow CIMA's published 2026–27 marking approach. Each requirement is split into the points a marker rewards, and each point is placed at Level 1, 2 or 3 by best fit, then given a mark inside that level's range. A level is judged on technical understanding, communication, use of the information and application to the scenario. Marks are given for what you show, never taken away. You see the level and marks for each point, a score for each of the four elements, and your result by core activity, as a practice estimate out of 150 with the pass line at 80. Every answer is first marked automatically by AI against this scheme. You can query any mark: an independent second marking looks at it first, then a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator if it doesn't settle.

It's a guide to help you improve, not a CIMA mark and not a prediction of your result. Look for patterns across several answers rather than reading too much into one.

I think my mark is wrong. What can I do?

Use "Think this mark is wrong?" on your feedback. An independent second marking looks at it first, and a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator checks any query that doesn't settle, or that you still disagree with.

If the second marking is within 8 points (out of 150) of your mark, your mark stands and you're told why. If you still disagree, choose "Still disagree? Ask a CIMA-qualified (CGMA) moderator". If a mark changes, you see the new mark and the reason.

You can have 3 queries open at once and send 5 a month.

What is an in-depth review and when is it ready?

A slower, more detailed review of one of your finished mocks: marks for each requirement, your answer annotated, a second marking, notes on timing and structure, and a 7-day plan.

Reviews are worked through overnight and are ready by 7:00 the next morning (UK time). If one is late or fails, you get the credit back. Pass Plus includes 3; you can buy more in packs of 1 and 3.

Dot

How many Dot messages do I get?

Each plan comes with a Dot allowance for its whole length: 400 messages on Pass and 1,000 on Pass Plus (150 on a final week pass). A sentence check or a "Nudge me" hint counts as half a message.

There's also a daily limit (30 a day on Pass, 100 on Pass Plus). Dot shows how many you have left once fewer than 20% remain, and you can ask Dot at any time.

Every message to Dot counts the same, including questions about your plan or account. The answers to those are also here on the Help page, which never uses your allowance.

A new plan or a resit starts a fresh allowance; an upgrade keeps your count and gives you the bigger allowance. When it runs out, your tasks, lessons and feedback all still work.

What can Dot help with?

Dot is your study mentor. It knows your pre-seen and your marked answers, and coaches you on exam technique, the syllabus and what to fix next. Open it from any page with Ask Dot, or highlight a passage to ask about it.

Dot is switched off during timed tasks and mock sections, as in the real exam. In tutor mode it gives hints, never the answer. It's an AI, not a person, and its views are guidance, not official CIMA advice.

Your account and data

Can I download my data?

Yes. Settings has "Download my data", which gives you a copy of your account, answers, marks, feedback and Dot messages whenever you like, including for at least 30 days after your access ends.

How do I delete my account?

In Settings, use "Delete my account". Your name, email, password and settings are erased and you can no longer sign in. Your answers, marks, progress and Dot chats stay with the anonymised account, with nothing that identifies you, to help check the marking. Download your data first if you want a copy.

We keep records of what you paid (amount, date and what you bought), with your name and email removed, because tax law requires it.

Otherwise we keep an open account's data for 24 months after your last activity, then delete or anonymise it.

How do I change which emails I get?

In Settings, under Emails, switch off study reminders and offers, the weekly progress summary or study nudges. Every promotional email also has an unsubscribe link.

Receipts, password resets and a few emails about your exam always send.

I can't sign in or I've forgotten my password

Use "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page and we email you a link to set a new one. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, sign in with that button instead.

You can change your password, name and email in Settings once you're in.
