Terms of service

1. Who we are
Eighty Marks is an independent study service. Contact us at [email protected].
Eighty Marks is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by CIMA or AICPA. CIMA and CGMA are trademarks of their respective owners.
2. Your account
You must give accurate details and keep your password private. Accounts are for one person and must not be shared.
You agree to these terms when you create an account. When you buy a plan you also confirm, by ticking the box, that you want access straight away.
3. Plans and access
Each plan (Pass or Pass Plus) gives access to one case study level (Operational, Management or Strategic) for your next two exam sittings at that level, plus 14 days after the second. If you buy before or during the first exam window of the current pre-seen, that is both of its windows. If you buy after its first window, it is its second window and the first window of the next pre-seen; that pre-seen's practice opens when it is released, and you keep the current one until your sitting on it is over. The end date is shown before you pay and in Your plan.
If the dates of a sitting your plan covers aren't published when you buy, we set a provisional end date on the generous side. Once the dates are published we move the end date later if they need it. We never move it sooner. Plans bought before 17 October 2026 keep at least the access they were sold with.
Plans include daily allowances of marked answers, improved answers and mentor messages, shown on the pricing page. These protect the service for everyone and reset every 24 hours.
An upgrade from Pass to Pass Plus costs the difference in price and keeps your end date. The window extension is no longer sold (from 17 October 2026); extensions bought before then keep the access they gave.
Resits: if you had a plan at a level (bought, a team code, an earlier resit, or a plan bought with a final week pass counted) that has ended or ends within 30 days, and it ended no more than 12 months ago, you can buy your next two sittings at that level for half the plan price shown on the pricing page, Pass or Pass Plus. The reason doesn't matter. Otherwise the normal price applies.
Resit cover (Pass Plus only, until you pass): if you report that you didn't pass a sitting you took while your plan was active, and you completed the practice shown on the pricing page for that sitting, your plan is extended at no charge to cover the next exam window after the ones it already covers. This repeats for each covered sitting you don't pass, with no limit and no expiry, until you pass; practice for each new window counts from when the last cover was applied. Resit cover has no cash value.
Final week pass: 7 days of Pass Plus at one level, ending after your exam. It has no resit cover. Until 30 days after that exam window's results day (or, if no results day is published, 90 days after the exam), what you paid for it counts in full towards a new Pass or Pass Plus at the same level, once.
Mock pack: marked full mocks and one in-depth review at one level for your next two exam sittings, with no practice bank, lessons, study plan or mentor. What you paid counts in full towards Pass or Pass Plus at the same level, once.
Case Study Pathway: Pass or Pass Plus for all three case study levels (Operational, Management and Strategic) in one payment. No level is active until you start it from Your plan. When you start a level, you get that level's plan for your next two exam sittings at that level, as if you had bought it that day. You can start each level once, and only when you have no plan or other access running at that level. You must start each level within 3 years of buying; a level not started by then can't be started, and isn't refunded. We email you 60 days before that date if a level is still to start. A Pass Pathway can be upgraded to Pass Plus at all three levels for the difference in price, only before you start any level; after that, each level you have started can be upgraded on its own like any Pass. The half-price resit and Pass Plus resit cover apply to each level you start, on the terms above.
Company seats: an employer can buy places for its staff (see "Company accounts and seats" below). A seat gives one level and plan for the student's next two exam sittings at that level, as a plan bought that day, and each student can take one company seat per level. Once a student accepts or redeems a seat it is theirs and can't be passed to anyone else. While the seat is active, the employer sees the student's activity and readiness, never their answers or feedback.
You can download a copy of your answers, feedback and mentor messages from Settings at any time while your account is open, including for at least 30 days after your access ends.
4. Prices, payment and tax
Prices are shown before you pay and include any VAT, GST or sales tax due where you live. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Plans are one-off payments. They don't renew automatically.
5. Your right to cancel
If you live in the UK or EU you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. If you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once access starts, the 14-day right ends when you start using the plan. We confirm this by email.
Separately, if you're unhappy within 7 days of purchase, and no more than 5 answers have been marked at that level since you bought it, you can have a full refund. For a Case Study Pathway, it's a full refund within 7 days of purchase as long as you haven't started any of its levels. This does not affect your legal rights.
Plans (Pass and Pass Plus), resits, Mock packs, final week passes and a Case Study Pathway with no level started are refunded straight away from Your plan: the refund goes back the way you paid, and your access to what you bought ends as soon as it is made. If you've already had a refund at the same level in the previous 12 months, we review the request first and reply within 2 working days; your access stays until we decide. Anything bought with credit from another purchase (an upgrade from a Mock pack, a plan with a final week pass counted, or a Case Study Pathway upgrade), anything whose price has counted towards another purchase, upgrades and other purchases are refunded on the same terms by our team: contact us.
If you stop studying after starting a level of a Case Study Pathway, contact us and we'll refund the levels you haven't started: the price you paid for the Pathway less each level you started at its full single price shown on the pricing page, if that leaves anything. The levels you started keep their access.
6. Company accounts and seats
Anyone can open a company account at /teams/start and becomes its first manager; managers can invite other managers. The company is our customer for its seats; these terms apply to it and to each manager. A company account is for buying places for your own staff or students, not for reselling them.
Seats are bought by card (any order) or by invoice (orders of 5 seats or more, sent by Stripe and payable within 30 days by bank transfer or card). The discount is set by the number of plan seats in each order: 15% from 5 seats and 25% from 20 seats. Prices include any VAT. Seats are released as soon as payment is confirmed; until an invoice is paid, its seats aren't available.
Managers give out seats by emailed invite, or as codes. An invite holds a seat for 30 days. Until a student accepts an invite or redeems a code, the seat can be cancelled and given to someone else ("transfer of an unused seat"). Once a student has accepted or redeemed a seat, it can't be transferred. Unused seats don't expire.
Refunds: within 14 days of payment, every seat nobody has accepted or redeemed can be refunded in full, at the price paid for it (its share of the order's discount included). Card orders are refunded from the team page; invoice orders by our team on request. Seats a student has started aren't refundable. The consumer 14-day cancellation right and the student refund rules above don't apply to seats bought by a company.
Resit seats: a manager can buy a half-price seat for a student whose seat at a level has ended, on the same terms as the student resit price above. It starts for that student as soon as it is paid.
What the employer sees: for each student on its seats, their name and email, the level and plan of their seat and when they started; when they were last active; how many tasks were marked this week and how many mocks they've completed; and whether their recent practice is likely below, borderline or likely above the pass line, with a "ready to sit" flag. Never their answers, the marks of individual tasks, their feedback or their conversations with Dot. Students are shown this before they accept, and it can't be switched off while the seat is active (seats taken before 19 October 2026 keep the choice the student made then). The employer must use it only to support the student's studies.
7. Partners
Tuition providers, universities, CIMA societies and similar organisations can be Eighty Marks partners, by agreement with us. A partner's page or code may give a lower price on a plan. If you arrive through a partner's page or link, the partner is recorded for 30 days, and on your account if you sign up then; the partner's price then applies to plans you buy for 12 months. A partner price can't be combined with a promotion code, a resit price or a credit from another purchase: you always get the lowest single price you qualify for.
Partners see only totals (how many students signed up and bought through them, and the sales they earned a share of), never your name, email, answers or marks. A partner that buys seats for its students is their employer for these terms (see "Company accounts and seats").
8. AI marking and tutoring
Marking, feedback and tutoring are generated with artificial intelligence. They are guidance to help you improve and may contain mistakes. They are not CIMA marks and do not predict your exam result with certainty.
If you think a mark is wrong, use the "Think this mark is wrong?" link on your feedback, or email us, and we will review it.
9. Fair use
Don't copy, resell or share our content, scrape the service, try to break its security, or upload material you don't have the right to use, including copies of CIMA materials.
To keep the service fast for everyone, marking may be subject to reasonable daily limits, which we show in the app.
10. Your content
You own the answers you write. You give us permission to store and process them to mark them, give you feedback and run the service. Our staff may review answers to check marking quality; we never use them to train AI models.
11. Our liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for exam results, which depend on many things outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Complaints
Contact us at [email protected]. We aim to reply to complaints within 2 working days. If we can't resolve a complaint, you can contact your local consumer advice service (in the UK, Citizens Advice) and you keep your right to go to court. We are not obliged to use, and do not currently use, an alternative dispute resolution provider.
13. Changes and ending these terms
We may update these terms; we'll tell you about important changes in advance. You can close your account at any time by deleting it in Settings, or by email to [email protected]. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, and will refund unused paid access where we end the service without good reason.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring claims there.
